Talks on a wide range of presentations covering local history, ecology, art and projects within the Sid valley.
Sidmouth Museum offers free entry for SVA members and runs special exhibitions throughout the year on a variety of themes, some specifically targeted at our younger visitors.
Guided Walks run by Sidmouth Museum weekly during summer months, last 1½ to 2 hours led by a knowledgeable guide. Free to SVA members:
Town Walks – Discover the stories of the buildings, gardens and spaces.
Geology Walks – Led by a geologist, see the evidence in the rocks and landscape of Sidmouth's geological past over the last 240 million years.
Tree Walks – See some of Sidmouth’s exceptional trees and Victorian parkland in the company of a knowledgeable guide from Sidmouth Arboretum
Our Countryside Walks explore the countryside around Sidmouth and nearby towns. Walks are held on the first Tuesday of each month, starting at 10:00am. The walks cover 5 miles at a moderate pace, avoiding steep hills and last about 2½ hours.
The History Group meets every other month to talk about local history and share results of recent research.
